The World Teachers’ Day student challenge is open for any Queensland school student or group of students from Prep to Year 12 to create a digital product that expresses the theme: a teacher’s commitment to their students’ learning is inspirational.

What to create?

Simply create a digital product showing how your teacher is inspirational and complete the entry form and ask your school to upload both of them here.

Digital tools

Use any digital tool to convey your message. For example, a story with iMovie, Microsoft Moviemaker or Microsoft Photo Story, a song about a teacher using Garage Band or Audacity, a presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint or Prezi, a poster, banner, animation or cartoon. Students may use their own apps, work alone or in a group. The digital product may provide opportunities for teachers to link to existing units of work or other curriculum contexts.

Eligibility

Queensland students from Prep to Year 12 may enter individual or group submissions in the following categories:

  • Lower primary (Prep to year 3)
  • Upper primary (Years 4 to 7)
  • Secondary (Years 8 to 12)

What judges will consider

  • Have digital tools been used and well selected to convey the message?
  • Does the digital product elicit an emotion; tell a story; convey a message about how or why the teacher is inspirational?
  • Is it unique? (Is it your original work? Has the message been copied from another media source or in a way that hasn’t been done before?)
  • Movies, songs and presentations should be restricted to three minutes duration.

Professional Artist and Art Teacher

My art journey has taken me along several paths. I am currently producing fine art, photographic prints, and illustrations. This has led to combining digital media into the mix to produce a range of hand-crafted products. I am also a qualified art teacher and teach art to young creatives in my studio in the Redlands area of Queensland, Australia.
